- The 19-955 powers the trailer lighting circuits without loading the vehicle lighting circuits,
therefore preventing unwanted fault codes.
- Suits modern European vehicles including those with a single wire, combined stop/tail feed.
- Can be configured to suit negative switching vehicles, such as Jaguar.

Installation Instructions
- You will need to find a switched power feed such as accessory or ignition.
Battery can be used but the unit does have a small standby current draw.
- Connect vehicle lights to the 19-955 inputs and a trailer plug to the outputs.
- It all connects via screw terminals.
- If the vehicle is standard (has separate standard New Zealand lights) it will work as is.
Just connect as per instructions.
- If the vehicle has a single feed stop/tail light then you can connect that combined input to the
19-955 stop feed and the tail input is not used. The internal microprocessor will sort it out.
- If the vehicle has a permanent power connection to the lights and switch them to earth
(is negatively switched such as Jaguar) then you need to link the power input to the designated
terminal to configure the 19-955 for negative switching, and the internal microprocessor will sort it out.
 
How it works
- The unit senses the vehicle lights and switches the power feed to the trailer when appropriate.
- The unit will draw 5 milli amps when connected to power. This will have minimal load on the
vehicle unless it is left sitting for weeks. This is why we recommend a switched power feed.
- The unit has internal intelligence that will ignore any fault detection that the vehicle may use to detect failed
lamps but detect valid signals.
- If the car has LED lamps the unit will still detect the lights on all model vehicles we have so far encountered.
- Since the unit only detects the vehicle lights there is no warning to the driver if a lamp fails. Some vehicle
manufactures make systems that can detect the trailer but they are generally expensive and often have
trouble with LEDs.
